Justin Traft: If I was the Cavs trainer what would I do for the team after their overtime win? First off, make sure the players that played a lot of minutes (in this case, all of them) would be icing any sore or bruised muscles. Second, I would make sure everyone is staying hydrated or rehydrating after the game. This way they can avoid any muscle cramping. Third, I would make sure everyone is getting stretched or muscle therapy ahead of Tuesday night’s game three. Four, I'd make sure everyone is fueling up with healthy nutritious meals that will help with recovery and energy in preparation for the big game and preparing in case they have to go into overtime again. I would avoid any weight training… this way player wouldn't be sore or tight for the game.

Fitness Together owner Sean Sullivan in Cryo Sauna
Adam Teplitz: With only a day in between the Cavs grueling game 2 win and tonight’s game 3 here in
Cleveland, it's time for the Cavs players to heal and rest up. As the team trainer, I'd make it a priority to have the players stretch and apply ice. Ice baths are the perfect remedy for fatigued muscles. The body responds by releasing natural inflammatories. These are the two main steps I’d take. This would reassure that the players are healed and ready to go for Game 3. Another option to the ice baths would be to head to CryoTherapy Plus and hop in the cryo sauna. This has the same effect, if not better, as the ice baths in a fraction of the time.

Monika says to add Yoga!
Monika Cotter: Right now, the Cavs are rocking it! The team is probably feeling a lot of excitement, nerves and determination. If I was their strength & conditioning coach, to have them prepare for the next game I would have had the team do some yoga last night! I would make sure all of the players eat nutritious, clean foods and incorporate complex carbs, lean protein and good fats into every meal until game time. Playing basketball on a professional level can be very demanding on the body---especially after two overtime games. The team needs rest, stretching and meditation to focus and stay in a winning mind set. Good luck to them and Go Cavs!

Steven Madden: When recovering from physical activity, a good stretch session can really help. Spending a good thirty to forty-five minutes getting stretched can really aid recovery.  Also never overlook the power of a good massage. A relaxing swim can be effective too.  The water pressure can act in the same fashion as compression clothing, helping to force lactic acid out of the muscles and aiding in recovery as well.  Let's hope the Cavs did something to help recover.
